I read about Amazon Affiliate program from a couple of blogs I visited and after Googling around, I got interested to use it so I registered yesterday and got my site approval this morning.

I’m not really sure if I can earn from this, but then again it’s worth to try since it’s free and I don’t lose anything by including it in my blog. Maybe, just a bit more bandwidth or a small amount of additional page load time, but it’s not that much though. After I received my approval, I tried to login to my Affiliate/Associate account just to get the hang of it, and it’s pretty easy as I may say. You just have to choose what products you want to advertise on your site, copy the HTML code for that product, paste it on your post or a part of your web site, and walahhh, instant Amazon ads.

To go a bit further, I also tried downloading the WordPress-Amazon plugin from Rich Manalang’s weblog. As you can see the picture on the left is the result of such plugin. Basically, it allows you to create an Amazon Associate link within your WordPress blog by adding an “Insert content from Amazon” link below your “New Post” page. This would then allow you to browse through Amazon’s product offerings and then choose what product you want to include in your new post. Cool!

Let’s see if I can get some money out of this. If not then, who cares, I am still able to eat decent meals everyday, have enough money to feed my family, and send my children to school. So I’m not really that desperate to earn a living from here. If it adds up to my income, fine.. if not then fine still.
