I had been a long time BayanTel SkyDSL customer and I must say that it has been the best in terms of uptime and network connection speed for all the time I had been with them, until a few months ago when problems with their internet connection started popping out everyday.
For all those years that I have been with BayanTel, seldom do I had disconnection problems or slow internet speed, but things seems to have gotten worst for them lately. These past few months, I suddenly lose my connection and I had to disconnect and re-connect my router several times a day. It’s worst when it rains hard since I totally lose my connection until the rain stops. There are also a lot of instances wherein my internet speed slows down. Still faster though than a dial-up connection but still a lot slower than our guaranteed speed for our subscription.
I don’t really like calling customer service, so I just tried to configure things on my router to hopefully address the issue or just disconnect/connect as often as needed. But last week, I got fed up so I decided to finally call them up. So another problem with BayanTel DSL services arose. Their customer service hotline (411-2000) is so difficult to reach if you try to call the up during office hours. Oftentimes the lines are busy or it just keeps ringing and nobody answers it. You can try calling them up at 6AM if you want to get connected quickly. Damn! This reminds me of Destiny’s customer service hotline when I was subscribed to their cable internet a few years back. And when I finally got in touch of a Bayantel Tech Support person, they just inform me that they will be resetting my internet port and that I can just call them up again if the problem persists (as if it’s so easy to call back again considering their lines are oftentimes congested). Since the problem persists, I called up again (after almost an hour of re-dialing their hotline), and that’s the time they gave me a work order number to address my issues. Soon enough, the next day their contractors came to our house and checked the lines and even replaced my DSL modem. Sad to say, this didn’t improve anything and until now my internet problems still exists.
I am now planning to change my ISP provider, but still not sure who can provide the best services around. PLDT or Smart Bro is definitely not in my list since I know a lot of people having problems with them. Globe DSL may be an option but I have yet to check as well as Eastern Telecoms. Well, I guess I have no choice but to stick it for a while with BayanTel until I get the chance to find a rock solid DSL provider.
Oh wait, I had to disconnect and reconnect my router so I can save this post. Damn! ~![]()

I’m glad i found this post/blog. Right now,at this very moment, im very pissed off for their very slow internet connection! damn! fu**!
we are paying on time monthly and then giving us BNAD SERVICE in return! Fix your internet/dsl lines Mr cust care dahil kung tatawagan kayo,walang sumasagot! that’s stupid!

Sad to say, even if I had already contacted Mr. Naguit and after a couple of visits from their tech support and calls to their customer services, my internet connection is still experiencing intermittent disconnects daily and so unstable throughout the day.
I hope BayanTel would now realize that something needs to be done with their quality of services as more and more customers are now becoming unsatisfied. How I wish they could bring back the good old days when they were the best in the DSL business that I had been so proud of being a customer.

Same here. I’ve been using bayantel for a long time now. Kaso napansin ko every day pababa ng pababa yung internet speed ko. Imagine I’m paying for 2.5 mbps na 2999. Tapos ang makukuha ko lang ay wala pang 1Mbps!!! I already tried calling their support several times. nakakabadtrip lang coz sasabihin sakin na kapag 100kbps ok pa daw yun at hindi need ayusin or whatever. ang layo naman sa binabayaran ko. Ilang beses narin sila pumunta dito, palit modem etc. pero ganon parin. I’m already thinking of switching to other providers pag natapos na ung contract this May. Kaso iniisip ko pa kung ano yung maganda ang support at may maganda offer/package.
Nag test ako sa speedtest.net at ito ang lumabas =(

Weird and taas ng upload ko. halos pantay na sa download.
hayzzz…sana umayos naman ang bayantel. dati ok naman sila eh.

i too am really pissed off at them, parating napuputol ung koneksyon ng paulit-ulit kaya reload ng reload ako ng webpage grrrrrrrrrrr.

at first i was a pldt user but after launch their promo which drew a lot of new subscriber the speed of the dsl went down. after i while i got fed up n look for a new dsl provider which was bayantel. for my first 2 yrs no complaints. but these past few months its getting hard 2 connect and you must disconnect n reconnect until u get a decent connection. complain to the technical deptartment (note grabe hirap tumawag) made me do a speedtest . sabi nila ok daw yun speed ko mabilis pa nga (download 0.6 n upload 0.72. ) pero how can i believe them kung pag bukas lang nga ng browser ay matagal na. how u can solve this problem asap kasi wala ako balak na patuloy kung ganun lang ang speed.

dito kami sa valenzeula araw-araw na pasakit, una sinisi nila inside wiring palitan daw ng napalitan ganon pa rin baka sa susunod sabihin nila lumipat na kayo ng ibang lugar. Wala ba silang solution sa problema ito pa putol putol ang connections
