TotLol - YouTube for Kids

Posted in Daily Living on July 20th, 2008

With the kind of videos being uploaded onto YouTube, this site is definitely not kid friendly. Due to this I had forbidden my kids to visit the site and started looking for alternatives. After a bit of Internet searches, I stumbled upon a YouTube like site called “TotLol” or short for Tot Laugh Out Loud. This is basically a site that have a collection of online video clips for kids. Researching more about this site I found a bit of a background here.

I’m thankful to this guy for coming up with a site that I’m sure most parents would love to show their kids. ;)

Posted in Daily Living on July 19th, 2008

One thing I really miss ever since I started this work at home stint is being with friends. This is one thing that I am still struggling to get used to right now. VMWare Server 2.0 Web Admin

I updated the kernel of one of my dedicated servers where VMWare Server 2 Beta is installed and decided to restart it. When I logged on to the VMWare Server web admin interface, I was surprised to see that all my virtual appliances failed to start, and the weird thing is I only saw “A general error occured” message in the error details.

VMWare Fusion Problem with Spaces

Posted in Techno Stuffs on July 9th, 2008

VMWare Fusion had been giving me some problems with Spaces with its last 2 software updates, and its very annoying actually. As a developer, I usually designate different desktops or “spaces” for specific functions or apps that I use for my day to day work. This helps me to be more organized with my work and unclutter my apps. One screen, holds my email and IM app, another holds my browsers, and then another screen is dedicated to a virtual appliance (usually Linux) in full screen mode under VMWare Fusion. This had been working well for me for quite some time, until Fusion had issues whenever I switch back from another desktop back to my virtual appliance.
