A Gym Come True
For several years, Aphilo and I had planned to join a fitness club or a gym but never got the chance to actually join one. While we were still both working in the office, we just noticed that instead of starting the day by working at around 6AM and then go home at 5PM, why not just go to a gym for 1-2 hours in the morning before reporting for work. But then, this had remained just a plan for all those years. We found a lot of excuses such as it’s a bit time consuming, too expensive, we might be too tired to work after the gym workout, etc.
Since we are now both working at home, I guess we don’t have that much excuses anymore in joining a gym. Aside from a famous gym located just 5 minutes away from our home which opens at our most ideal time of 6AM (just before the kids wake up) and both our working hours under our command, I guess it’s just about time we get into fitness since we’re not really getting any younger. We also thought that this is one good way to spend our bonding time, and also to meet up some new faces for socialization. So off we went and enrolled ourselves to the gym. We also paid extra for our own personal trainors. It’s a bit expensive actually, but I guess the advantages and the results we can get would be worth the money (I hope).
So for a few weeks now, we had been working out regulary at the gym and are very much happy with the results. I already lost 2 inches of my waist line and around 6 pounds of body fat. Aphilo’s also so proud of her flatter tummy and how the morning gym workout keeps her in an upbeat mood througout the day. I had also been so happy meeting new friends at the gym which had definitely helped me overcome my most dreaded “work at home loneliness and boredom”. It now made me think that Aphilo and I should have started doing these gym workouts since the day we planned for it, but I guess it’s never too late. ![]()
