Just recently while working, I heard Aphilo and the kids playing on the street. At first, I didn’t mind them since I wanted to finish a couple of things with work. But then, when I heard the laughter of the kids and how much they were having fun, I closed my notebook and played with them. While playing with the kids, I can’t help but look above, smile, and thank Him for such a great job I have. At that point wherein most people are tied up in their office for work and some being so stressed out, here I am spending fun and precious moments with my loved ones. What more can I ask for? I’m earning enough for our financial needs and at the same time, I have all the time in the world to spend quality time with my family, no matter what day of the week.
I guess this is one of the great things about my job. I am not tied up to any time frames except of course at times (which seldom happens) wherein I need to catch up deadlines or there are some work that needs to be in sync with my colleagues. In short, I can always choose to work or to play or spend quality time with my family whenever I want to. Moreover, working in a very flexible manner gives me that stress-free environment which is very conducive for work.
I don’t know how long this work at home stint would last. It’s true that with the current global crisis or for some other reasons, there’s a possibility that I’ll get laid off or have to move on sooner or later. Then again, I won’t worry about that for now. I’ll just enjoy the moment while it last, so that when the time comes when it ends at least I’ll get the feeling that I made the most of it not only for myself but for the people I love.
