I had been so busy with a lot of things lately, so time was really scarce for me to even have a single post this month (..until now). There has been a lot of tasks I had to work on and short deadlines to cope up with. I even had to work on weekends just to make ends meet. Not that I am complaining, but it’s more of a sharing of what has been happening. Besides, the work I had done is not something that’s too much for me anyway. But the most important thing I guess is being busy nowadays is a good thing considering the worldwide economic crisis everyone is dealing with. A lot of people had already lost their jobs, so instead of complaining about my work load, I guess it’s just right for me to thank God that I am busy with work.
Almost everyday, I would see a big company declaring job cuts or read about predictions of economists or businessmen on how much lay-offs would occur in certain countries or regions, or how bad a country is doing in terms of the economic crisis. This is really bad, and most probably everybody now feels that kind of jitter as to how long they would be able to keep their job, or if a job loss occur, how hard would it be to get a new one. I for one feel this way especially that I am working on a somehow informal manner with my current employer. I recently heard some good news from my boss such as renewal of contracts of our large clients but then again this is a time of economic uncertainties and things could change overnight.
For now, worrying about job security wouldn’t do me any good. This is one thing I realized in the past few weeks. Not only would it stress you out or become a cause of depression, but it make you less productive as well. It would be better to take things one day at a time. With regards to finances, it would be wise to ramp up those savings in preparation for the rainy days. So if ever we lose our job, we’ll have something in our pockets until we get a new one.
We never really now what would happen tomorrow, but instead of worrying about tomorrow, just make the most of today. ![]()
